Haryana Rajya Sabha Election: After the Election Commission announced the dates for the Rajya Sabha elections, vigorous lobbying has started in the BJP for the only Rajya Sabha seat in Haryana. The BJP can win this seat again on the basis of its strength, but so far no candidate has been announced by the saffron party. The names of many big leaders of the party are in discussion.
The names of many leaders like BJP’s Haryana state president Mohan Lal Badoli, former Karnal MP Sanjay Bhatia, former Sirsa MP Sunita Duggal, former BJP president OP Dhankar, former state minister Captain Abhimanyu and former MP Kuldeep Bishnoi are coming up for this seat.
Let us tell you that this seat fell vacant after the resignation of Krishan Lal Panwar on October 14. Panwar recently won the election from Israna (Panipat) assembly seat. He was also made a minister in the Nayab Singh Saini government.
According to sources, caste equations will be kept in mind in the selection of the BJP candidate. A senior party leader said that the connection with the Sangh will also play an important role in the selection of the candidate.
1. Mohan Lal Badoli: Badoli has played an important role in bringing the BJP to power in Haryana for the third time. He is considered to be the strongest candidate for this single Rajya Sabha seat. Badoli did not contest from Sonipat seat in the assembly elections. Despite this, he worked fully for the party. Due to this, his candidature can be considered.
2. Sanjay Bhatia: Bhatia, who comes from the Punjabi community, cleared the way for Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar in the Karnal Lok Sabha elections. He is considered an organizational person. He is the father of the concept of Panna Pramukh.
3. Sunita Duggal: Sunita Duggal is a prominent Dalit leader of the party. Some leaders believe that the Dalit community should get representation again on this seat. Panwar was also from the Dalit community.
4. OP Dhankar and Captain Abhimanyu: Both are known as leaders of the Jat community and have good influence in the party. Although both have lost the recent assembly elections, their candidature can be considered keeping in mind the Jat community.
5. Kuldeep Bishnoi: Bishnoi’s name is also in discussion as the non-Jat face of BJP.
BJP has majority in the assembly
BJP has 48 seats in the Haryana Assembly and three independent MLAs are also in support of the party. The opposition Congress has 37 seats. INLD has only 2 seats.
In such a situation, it is easy for the BJP to win this seat. The opposition party does not seem to be in a position to field a candidate in the election.
